Description

In this hands-on filmmaking course, students will learn how to bring their creative ideas to life through the power of visual storytelling. From brainstorming ideas to writing scripts, planning shots, and directing scenes, this course focuses on using film as a tool for engaging narratives.

Students will explore the fundamentals of storytelling, character development, and cinematic techniques while working on short film projects. They will learn how to craft compelling scenes using camera angles, lighting, and editing to enhance emotion and meaning. No prior experience is needed—just a passion for stories and a willingness to experiment with film.

While the focus will be on bringing each director’s vision to life, classmates will have opportunities to assist each other during the production process. By the end of the course, students will have created original short films that showcase their unique voices as storytellers.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be a showcase at the end of the year, our mini “film festival” to show off everything the students have accomplished!
