This class will expose students to the art and history of theatre and theatrical works through activities, reading, lectures, and discussion. Attending one or more play productions will be encouraged. Although time will prevent us from covering the entirety of theatre history, a variety of theatre genres and eras will give students a solid overview of theatre practices and how they’ve changed over time. Homework will be required. NOTE: The class can be counted as a semester of English or History if the parent has their student write two to three papers relating to the course content. Instructor will help parents with paper topics, but supervision of the writing and the grading of the papers will be up to the parents.
